Pikeville Independent Cheer chosen to represent Kentucky in All-Star Game

PIKEVILLE, KY -- Last week, administrators from the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches discussed their choices for Cheerleader representation at the Kentucky/Indiana All-Star Game at Bellarmine University on June 8th.

Selected to cheer for the All-Stars are 3X National Cheer Champion, Pikeville Independent High School. Pikeville Independent racked up many accomplishments last season -- 58th District In-Game Competition winner, KHSAA 15th Region Small Varsity Champion, KHSAA Small Varsity State Champion, UCA Bluegrass Challenge Small Varsity Winner and Grand Champion, and UCA Small Varsity National Champion.

Pikeville Independent is Coached by Kandice Branham, who is all-in for making this something special for Kentucky High School Basketball fans, "being asked to represent Kentucky as the cheerleaders for the All-Star game is a very special honor for my team. They work extremely hard and dedicate so much time to  being one of the best cheer teams in the state and this is another way we are seeing it pay off," she says.

The Kentucky/Indiana All-Star Series, in its 78th year, is the oldest series of its kind in the nation. The Kentucky side of the series will be played at Bellaremine University Knights Hall in Louisville on June 8th. The girls will tip-off at 6:00PM and the Boys will tip-off at 8:00PM.
