As another school year closes, basketball coaches across the state begin making preparations for the next season.  Summer leagues, open gym, weight lifting and conditioning programs are just part of what it takes to get ready.  The KABC was formed in the early nineties and it now provides our sport with Coach of the Year Awards, Player of the Year Awards, Court of Honor, Coaches Assist Program and several charitable causes that we support.

Membership and the coaching clinic are extremely important to the KABC.  They help us to fund all the good deeds that we are able to accomplish throughout the school year.  Our organization has grown from just a few members to over 900.  Our goal is 1,000 members.  If we could get each head coach and on assistant coach to join, we could easily attain this goal.

Our 16th Annual KABC Coaching Clinic will take place September 25th and 26th in Lexington, Kentucky.  Our clinic director, Curtis Turley, has confirmations from ESPN college analyst Fran Frachilla, Indiana University’s Tom Crean,  UK’s Women’s Coach Matt Mitchell, and UK’s Men’s Coach John Calipari.  It sounds like an All Star line-up.
